It's never too late to learn more about a certain field, which is why plenty of graduates choose to take a master's degree. If you're hoping to take further studies in the fields of business administration, law, or governance, then you might want to consider taking your master's degree in Japan. The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines recently shared that they are now open for applications for the Young Leaders Program. for the academic year 2022-2023.
The Young Leaders Program is an initiative of the Japanese government which grants scholarships to qualified individuals who wish to earn a master's degree in the fields Business Administration, Law, School of Government, and School of Local Governance from a Japanese university.
How do you qualify for the Young Leaders Program?
To qualify for the scholarship, you need:
- to be a Filipino citizen
- to have a bachelor’s degree holder with excellent academic records
- to be highly proficient in English
- to be under 40 years old
- to be employed with at least three to five years of work experience
- to take the TOEFL or IELTS
How do you apply for the Young Leaders Program?
Each field will be hosted by different universities and will be accepting 10 to 20 students into the scholarship program. For Business Administration, the host university is Hitotsubashi University. For Law, the host university is Kyushu University. For School of Government and School of Local Governance, the host university is National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS).
All applications for the Young Leaders Program must be coursed through the recommending authorities under each field. For Business Administration, the recommending authorities are Junior Chamber International Philippines and Management Association of the Philippines. For Law, the recommending authorities are UP - College of Law and Ateneo De Manila Law School. For School of Government, it's Civil Service Commission, and for School of Local Governance, the recommending authorities are Civil Service Commission and UP - National College of Public Administration and Governance.
