Put a pause on your counting calories and other diet fads because it's actually healthy to indulge in food once in a while—and it can even help you lose weight! Here is a list of reasons that explains why.

  1. Keeps your metabolism going.

When you have a meal plan, you tend to eat the same food over and over that your metabolism starts to recognize and tend to not work as hard in burning. Having a cheat day helps keep your metabolism strong and fired up! (via fitday.com)

Give in to your sweet tooth. You can't swear off sweets for the rest of your life. 

  1. It motivates you to reach your fitness goals.

Since you had a big burger and cake yesterday, you have all the more reason to head over to the gym or go on a run today!
