What You Need To Know About Pope Francis's Visit to the Philippines
We're betting you're super excited for next week's super short school week. But do you know why you've got three extra holidays? ICYDK, Pope Francis makes his first trip to the Philippines from January 15 to 19. And here's everything you need to know about his itinerary.
He arrives in the afternoon and will participate in a motorcade to the Apostolic Nunciature or the Embassy of the Holy see on Taft Avenue in Manila.
After a state visit to Malacañan Palace first thing in the morning, he will meet with the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines at the Manila Cathedral. Chosen families will have the chance to spend time with the Pope in the afternoon at the Mall of Asia Arena.
He'll head to Leyte for a day trip. His stops? Holy Mass in Tacloban, lunch in the archbishop's residence, and blessing of Pope Francis Complex for the Poor.
Holy Mass in University of Sto. Tomas and a public appearance at Quirino Grand Stand.
He'll leave for France in the morning.
