On Saturday, February 5, 2022, the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) held Cagayan’s very first on-site graduation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over 300 Engineering, Management, and Education students from Batch 2020-2021 joined the commencement rites in the campus’ open grass field. Good thing the skies were clear that day!
To ensure everyone’s safety, the university administration strictly enforced health protocols like mandatory social distancing and wearing of face masks. They also kept the ceremony short and limited the number of visitors that each graduate could invite. Plus, all attendees had to present full vaccination cards before entering the campus.
According to Inquirer.net, no one experienced any COVID-19 symptoms after the program. Tuguegarao City is still under Alert Level 3 as of press time.
ICYMI, the Inter-Agency Task Force prohibited Luzon schools from conducting on-site commencement rites in 2020. Since then, students have been participating in virtual graduation ceremonies from home.
But with this recent development, we’re hoping that even more students can physically celebrate this milestone with their friends and families. Congratulations, USLT fresh grads!
