The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) is a private Catholic institution for higher education that offers excellent quality education and an inexpensive cost structure. It has several branches in the country like Manila, Molino, Cavite, and Calamba, but the primary site location is in Las Piñas City.
The university is known for being world-class in terms of medical university and got recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Foundation for Advancement of Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), and the World Health Organization (WHO). In 2017, UPHSD received an Autonomous Status recognition from higher education during the awarding of CHED's 23rd founding anniversary. History of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA
On February 5, 1975, the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) was founded as Perpetual Help College of Rizal by Dr. Gen. Antonio Laperal Tamayo and Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo. It was given university status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 1997. Shortly after, the university got renamed the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
The school seal has an image of Our Lady of Perpetual that depicts the motherly figure of Mary, while the infant Jesus symbolizes the youth being nurtured by His mother, representing the university and its students. Mary’s eyes relay the message that anyone who needs help and comfort is welcome whenever. Part of the dedication is for the university co-founder, Dr. Josefina L. Tamayo, as the school’s grand matriarch.
Established in Las Piñas City, the first academic programs offered in their college were the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Second Course, which catered to 185 students. The school added two other branches in Molino and Calamba from 1995 to 1996. Upon the operation, the Molino Campus had 700 students, while the Calamba Campus had 376 enrollees. From then on, the University of Perpetual Help expanded its programs and overall developments.
Courses University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is Known For
The school offers 13 courses, including Technical Vocational Programs. Considering that the first course offered by UPHSD was Bachelor’s in Nursing, they have produced more than 90 board top-notchers in Nursing and Respiratory Therapy licensure examinations. Since then, it has become one of the most considerable medical universities in the Philippines. In addition, they have a facility of their own and high-quality training from professionals that could produce a high standard of education for aspiring medical practitioners.
How to Apply to UPHSD
The most difficult thing about processing documents is how confusing it can get. To manage all your papers accordingly, here are the requirements you’ll need:
Admission for Freshmen:
1. Birth Certificate (PSA Issued)
2. Form 138 (Original Report Card)
3. Good Moral Character Certificate
4. National Career Assessment Examination Result or Occupational Interest Inventory for HS Certificate of Rating (For TESDA programs only)
5. 3 pieces of 2” × 2” colored pictures 1 Long White Folder
6. 1 Long Brown Envelope
Mode of Payment:
1. Four equal installments (Upon enrollment, prelims, midterms, and finals)
2. Monthly installments
3. Online Payment (can be via UPHSD online payment portal, online banking bills payment, and mobile banking bills payment)
For your entrance examination, don’t forget to bring one long brown envelope and folder, pencil, pen, and Valid ID or School ID.

How Much Tuition and Other Fees Cost at UPHSD
If you plan on enrolling at the University of Perpetual Help, expect to prepare an amount of P40,000 to P60,000 a year, although this will still depend on the year level and the course or programs you’re planning to take. For international students, the fee differs.

Although the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is known for its medical courses, most notable alumnus are athletes or part of the entertainment industry. The most popular graduate are celebrities Richard Gomez, who took an MBA, and YouTuber Basel Manadil or known as The Hungry Syrian. Ely Buendia of Eraserheads attended high school, like journalist Ted Failon. Other graduates are basketball players Scottie Thompson, Harold Arboleda, Bright Akhuetie, Bong Hawkins, and Juneric Baloria.
