What a way to spend your holidays by giving service and helping other people. Hands On Manila Foundation Inc. is about to launch their new project, Hands On Volunteer Vacations (HOOV), service-and-learning travel experience for vacationers who also want to spend their holidays doing community work.

You can choose from these 3 main areas to work with:

  • Environmental - you'll have the experience of living in the countryside by living and working side-by-sides with the locals. You can go the mangrove plantation in Boracay and tree planting in Laguna and Batangas.
  • Heritage - since there are a lot of historic sites in our country, the main goal of this area is to help restore historical sites. With this, you can also learn more about the Philippine's history and culture.
  • Livelihood - this is where you'll help the locals sell and market their goods. Like for the Pina fiber in Aklan, volunteers help in the making of Pina fiber while thinking of ideas how to sell them to earn profit.

While you're still on vacay, invite your friends to go on one of their trips for some bonding time and do community work at the same time. All you have to do is to attend the orientation from HOM, choose a project you want to go to, schedule your trip, and be ready for a grand adventure!

For more information on HOVV, contact Carmela David at 843-5231 or e-mail here or log on to HOM's website here.
