The recently concluded K-drama Little Women definitely proves the ingenuity of South Korean screenwriters. Considering the countless adaptations of the beloved 1868 novel by Luisa May Alcott of the same name, who would’ve thought that the dark K-drama rendition starring Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, Park Ji Hu, and Wi Ha Joon, would stand out?

The psychological thriller depicts how Oh In Joo (Kim Go Eun), Meg March’s counterpart, deals with the consequences of her desire for a more luxurious life. With only 12 episodes, we find ourselves on an emotional roller coaster ride as we watch her struggles to keep the embezzled 70 billion won that can turn her and her two sisters’ lives around—only to learn that she’s been used as an accessory to her close friend’s revenge against one of the country’s influential families.
