Working or studying from home can be a bit dull at times and that can also affect your productivity. Speaking from experience as a writer, I tend to lose focus at home since I’m tempted to take a nap whenever I can see my bed or sofa. So when I really need to get things done for the day, it’s always a good idea to get out of the house. If you’re just like me and you live around Marikina, there are a lot of places you can work or chill with good coffee and free WiFi.

I’ve listed down seven study-friendly coffee shops around Marikina that can offer you a comfortable place to stay as you keep up with your deadlines.

1. Do Güd Café

Open from Wednesday to Monday (10 a.m. to 10 p.m.)

9 E. Rodriguez Cor. Lakandula St., Parang Marikina City

This co-working cafe is an ideal place to get your work done. Aside from the free WiFi and outlet, Do Güd serves energizing coffee drinks and delicious dishes and pastries. They are also pet-friendly and have both indoor and outdoor spaces for your convenience. Among my personal favorites from their menu are their Iced Spanish Latte and Creamy Tuna Pasta. I also adore their customer service and the fact that they also have a self-photo studio and gym. You can even avail a free 5-minute self-photo session for every Php 550 purchase!

2. Kape Benito Community Café

Open from Monday to Friday (12 n.n. to 10 p.m.) and Saturday to Sunday (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.)

Whether you’re working indoors or outdoors, Kape Benito’s high-speed internet will always be available for you. From grade school to college, Bubba Lab has provided me with a safe and productive space to work for long hours.
