Vlogging, and content creation for that matter, is more than just a hobby or passion these days. It has also proven to be a good source of income for many content creators, even if they're only doing it part-time.

Many vloggers nowadays also double as full-time students. Despite having their plates full with academic commitments, some are still able to grow their YouTube channels and earn enough ~moolah~ from the platform.

We asked four budding student YouTubers about what they bought with their first ever earnings from the platform, and surprisingly, they all seem to have bought the same thing. Can you guess what it is?

YouTuber Ashley Garcia, with over 350k subscribers on her fashion- and lifestyle-related YouTube channel, said that she bought a second-hand vlogging camera using her first YouTube sweldo, and that she still has it to this day. When she was just starting out, Ashley shared that her first ever vlogging equipment was her family's DSLR camera with no flip screen and a broken auto-focus feature.

Fellow fashion YouTuber Bianca Gan also invested in a good vlogging camera with her first YT earnings. Bianca has almost 200k subscribers on her growing YouTube channel, and so investing in proper equipment seemed like the next best move. "Prior to that, I was using a very old camera that had no flip screen, so every time I would film, it was a hit or miss with the footage. I decided to invest in a better camera and up until now, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made," shares Bianca.

Sister YouTubers Princess and Nicole Torres' YouTube income, on the other hand, is being managed by their parents. But they also got the same thing when they received their first earnings from vlogging. "Our parents got us a new vlogging camera," shares Nicole. "We used to film with a really big and heavy DSLR camera and so they bought us a new one which was more handy and lightweight. Up until now, we still use that camera!"
