Heads up, music lovers! We’ve got some exciting news. Spotify has just made listening to ad-free music even *more* affordable—and convenient!
If you aren’t really the type to stream your music or tune into your favorite podcasts daily, and a monthly subscription has always seemed far too big a commitment for you (and your wallet), say no more, bestie! Because this bite-sized plan is The One for you.
On August 3, 2021, Spotify launched the Premium Mini, a new subscription plan that allows Filipino mobile users to enjoy premium benefits for only a day or a week at a time. As Spotify’s first short-term subscription plan, the Premium Mini is priced at the cost of only P7 per day and P26 per week, which makes it a pretty *sulit* option for listeners who only need the premium features every once in a while, such as on week-long study sessions and all-nighters or on the long morning commutes to the grocery every other week.
The Premium Mini is also a good option for those looking to score the Spotify Premium experience at a cheaper price. A weekly subscription to the Premium Mini plan for a month is actually P25 cheaper than purchasing the Individual Premium Plan priced at P129/month. (Yes, we did the math!) However, seeing as this new plan is prepaid, this does mean that you have to settle fees weekly.
Alternatively, Spotify users can save even more money by opting to share the Duo Premium Plan (P169/month) or the Family Premium Plan (P194/month) with up to two and six users, respectively. Still in college? University students can also avail of the Student Premium Plan for only P65/month by submitting a photo of their valid school ID.
For further information on how to avail of the Premium Mini and other Spotify subscription plans, you can visit the Spotify website.
However, if you would still prefer to stream your music for free, we also recommend YouTube Music, which although ad-supported when free like Spotify, grants you full access to a huge library of songs to actively choose from. And if you aren’t the type to listen to mainstream pop artists, you might also like Bandcamp or Soundcloud, which are good for listening to new indie artists with no charge at all.
