During these difficult times, it is important to know where to look for further financial assistance for school. Below are the list of scholarships students can apply to this 2023:
- Security Bank Foundation
Security Bank is one of the leading bank services in the Philippines with their customer-centric objectives. They not only aim to protect their customers’ financial assets, but also offer financial assistance to those in need. They have three scholarship packages:
- State Universities which includes:
- a stipend of Php 10,000 per month for a maximum of 10 school months.
- Private Universities which includes:
- a stipend of Php 5,000 per month for a maximum of 10 school months; and
- a maximum of Php 100,000 per year for tuition and miscellaneous fees.
- Non-Monetary Scholarship Benefits include:
- Internships;
- involvement in corporate social responsibility activities; and
- attendance to learning sessions provided by their partner institutions.Â
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for this, you must:
- Be a graduating Grade 12 student from public/private school;
- Have a latest General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 90% or its equivalent;
- Have no parent currently employed/assigned in Security Bank;
- Have no other family member currently admitted to the scholarship within second degree of consanguinity or affinity;
- Have no other existing scholarship except for discounts provided by schools;Â
- Â Enroll in any of the 8 partner schools in NCR including Ateneo De Manila University, Chiang Kai Shek College, De La Salle University Manila, Far Eastern University Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the Philippines Diliman, and University of Santo Tomas; and
- Enroll in any of these courses: Accountancy, Accounting Information System/ Technology, Internal Auditing, Marketing, Financial Management, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics/ Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science/ Technology, Information Systems/ Technology.
REQUIREMENTS
If you’re eligible, here are the things you need to prepare:
- Duly accomplished Online Application Form;
- Latest Grade 12 Report Card with Final General Weighted Average (up to latest available quarter grading, if no final GWA);
- Latest Parent/Guardian’s Income Tax Return (for employed) / Certificate of Indigency (for unemployed) / Copy of OFW Employment Contract with Compensation;
- Proof of Admission / Acceptance Letter from any of the 8 Partner Schools;
- Birth Certificate of Scholar; andÂ
- Portrait Photo of Scholar

- CHED Merit Scholarship Program
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has a mandate to provide accessible quality higher education to every Filipino. To do this, they launched their CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP) which aims to offer government-funded scholarships to students, especially underprivileged and homeless citizens, Persons with Disability (PWD), and solo parents and/or their dependents.Â
Their program includes four different assistance under two categories, the State Scholarship and Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA)::
- State Scholarship
- Full SSP includes:
- a stipend of Php 70,000 annually or Php 35,000 per semester; and
- book or connectivity allowance worth Php 10,000 annually or Php 5,000 per semester.
- Half SSP includes:
- a stipend of Php 35,000 annually or Php 17,500 per semester; andÂ
- book or connectivity allowance worth Php 5,000 annually or Php 2,500 per semester.Â
- Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA)
- Full PESFA includes:
- tuition and other school fees worth Php 40,000 annually or Php 20,000 per semester;Â
- a stipend of Php 70,000 annually or Php 35,000 per semester; and
- book or connectivity allowance worth Php 10,000 annually or Php 5,000 per semester.
- Half PESFA includes:
- tuition and other school fees worth Php 20,000 annually or Php 10,000 per semester;Â
- a stipend of Php 35,000 annually or Php 17,500 per semester; and
- book or connectivity allowance worth Php 5,000 annually or Php 2,500 per semester.
- Be a Filipino citizen;
- Be a graduating high school student/ High school graduate with general weighted average (GWA) of at least 96% for Full Merit Program and 93% to 95% or its equivalent for Half Merit Program; and
- Avail of only one government-funded financial assistance program.

- Enrolled in a state university or government-funded school located in the province or region where applicant resides;
