Calling all quarantine chefs! Put your newfound skills to the test and learn how to cook like a Pixar character with guidance from the famous studio itself. Taken from a new segment released on their YouTube channel three months ago dubbed Cooking with Pixar, the step-by-step videos bring their adorable animations to life to guide you in making the iconic food featured in their repertoire of well-loved films.
That said, having started the series with a recipe for the earnest short Bao, in true Asian fashion, Pixar’s cooking videos leave out any sense of measurements, providing viewers only with the ingredients and some adorable graphics. (Not a bad way to start, though you may want to look into an actual recipe on the internet if you haven’t mastered the art of feeling it through just yet!)
Pixar has released three videos so far, which means that a new one may be expected every month. Aside from learning how to make the traditional Chinese dumpling, you can also attempt to bake a birthday cake as in their most recent fantasy-adventure flick Onwards. For a savory snack, you can also take a gander at Toy Story 4’s Pizza Planet Pizza with their very own Mr. Forky to assist you.
Although there’s no official Pixar recipe (yet) from arguably the most famous dish in an animated film, Ratatouille, you can find loads of cooking guides for it similar to the one below.
