Located along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City, Multiple Intelligence International School is the pioneering basic institution to advocate for youth entrepreneurship in the Philippines. MIIS prides itself for developing an entrepreneurial mindset among its students from Preschool to Grade 12, and is also known for basing its curriculum on the famous Multiple Intelligence Framework in developmental psychology. Since the school is accredited by the Council of International Schools, MIIS offerings also follow international standards!

Before you decide to apply to Multiple Intelligence International School, here are some things you should know about the institution:

History of Multiple Intelligence International School

In 1996, MIIS was first founded as Child’s Place Preschool by Mary Joy Canon-Abaquin, the best-selling author of Go Negosyo’s “8 Simple Secrets to Raising Entrepreneurs”. It was the first institution in the country to base its teaching approach on the Multiple Intelligence Framework, which was pioneered in 1983 by Harvard-based developmental psychologist Howard Gardner. In 2007, MIIS expanded their offerings to Grades 9 to 12, following their Grade School and Lower School Offerings in the previous years.

In 2018, MIIS received its accreditation from the Council of International Schools, being the first institution in Quezon City and fourth international school in the Philippines to receive this accreditation.

In 2019, MIIS also spearheaded the Youth Innovation Challenge in partnership with Smart Communications, Inc. The YIC is an event that brought together local students as an opportunity to create solutions to address concerns prevalent in society through innovations and creative thinking.

Currently, MIIS operates in two campuses in Quezon City. Their Main Campus—which houses the Child’s Place Preschool up to Middle School—is located at Escaler Street, Loyola Heights, while the Upper School is situated at Elizabeth Hall, Katipunan Avenue.

What Multiple Intelligence International School Offers

The Senior High School Program offered by MIIS aligns with both the Philippine Department of Education and International standards. Their Senior High School Curriculum is designed to reinforce student leadership in sustainable development as an overall framework. MIIS offers four academic strands as of writing: 1) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); 2) Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); 3) General Academic Strand (GAS); and 4) Accountancy and Business Management (ABM), where MIIS' partnerships with different companies give their students a unique learning experience in the business field.
