Shopping malls in Metro Manila have announced their temporary closure in compliance with the recommended implementation of curfews by local government units. Malls will stop operations starting March 16, 2020. In accordance with the memorandum issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on March 16, only essential establishments like groceries, supermarkets, pharmacies, health clinics, bookstores, hardware stores, and banks will be allowed to remain operational.Â
As of writing, the curfew is enforced in Taguig, Pasig, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Pinas, and Caloocan.
