What do you do when you have an idea? You can either sit on it or just do something about it. Jodie Alejaga of A Sunny Day Blog, 15, Arielle Guevara of Spaceship to Infinity, 15 , and Nina Alvia of Infinite Existence, 16, decided to do the latter. With the idea of gathering teen bloggers and creating a community for the creative youth, I Know Write MNL 2014 came to life.
The event is a meet-up for the young bloggers in the area. It was held last February 22 in Kuppa Roastery Café in Taguig. The bloggers enjoyed some snacks as well as a really inspiring talk by Arriane Serafico of Wanderrgirl. She discussed four points on how blogging helped her in different aspects. In conclusion, she advised to "not let your blog take over your life."
"The reason why I accepted speaking here," Arriane said during her talk, "is because I really support young people who don't just sit down on their ideas." True enough, the event was made possible because of a couple of passionate teenagers. The attendees of IKWr MNL enjoyed an intimate setting and getting-to-know conversations with like-minded people.
Even with the actual event over, IKWr MNL is still pretty much alive. With more activities planned in the future, this tiny meet-up is not a community of the young creative youth.
