It's a Dream Come True: Coffee-Flavored Dunkin' Cereal Exists
Anyone who has tried to beat morning rush hour traffic on the way to school knows the value of a good cereal—it’s breakfast when you wake up late and have no time to throw anything else together but absolutely need to eat something. It's also comfort food during hell week, and the perfect midnight snack. So we’re predicting that any cereal eater would do a little happy dance at the news that Dunkin’ Donuts now makes cereal—and it’s caffeinated, to boot.
Dunkin’ is working with Post Consumer Brands, known for making several other popular cereal staples like Honey Bunches of Oats and Raisin Bran, to make two flavors: Mocha Latte, which has “a hint of chocolate and latte-swirled marshmallows,” and Caramel Macchiato, which has caramel-swirled marshmallows to go with Dunkin’ coffee-flavored cereal pieces.
Both contain “very small amounts of caffeine, roughly a 10th of a cup of coffee,” says Nerdist. “Getting the flavor right on our new cereals was a top priority, and we think we’ve nailed the rich, smooth and creamy taste,” said Josh Jans, Brand Manager of Cereal Partnerships at Post Consumer Brands, according to the site.
Dunkin’ cereal will be available at U.S. supermarkets starting in August. Fellow coffee fans, let’s keep our fingers crossed they find their way to our shores soon.
