Constantly Can't Sleep at Night? Study Says You Should Camp Out

For a teen's life, sleep is probably the most important thing on your list of priorities. It's frustrating when you know you need to sleep because you have an important quiz or report the next day and your mind just won't shut down. 

A study found that people who spend a weekend on camping trips usually fall asleep for about two and a half hours earlier than the normal sleep cycle they have at home. The answer to this really weird phenomenon is actually simple! And that is because of technology, which we eliminate when camping out in nature under the starry night sky.

Kenneth Wright, a lead contact of the study and director of the Sleep and Chronobiology lab at the University of Colorado suggests that a weekend camping trip might cure our sleepless nights by resetting your internal clock. 

But if you're not an outdoorsy person who shouldn't be bothered for a hike, Wright told The Guardian that there are also solutions that we could do in our daily lives that don't need a long trip out of the city. And that is to always sleep at a reasonable time, get more natural sunlight by walking outside or letting more sunlight in your homes, and to dim the lights at night.  (via
