Safety has always been the top concern for travelers. In today's world, however, that means much more than pickpocketing and other petty crimes. Now, it means following the World Health Organization's recommendations and checking out the protocols in place in a post-coronavirus world.
With several countries opening their borders, it pays to know which countries are the safest destinations for travel. It's something European Commission-headed tourism site European Best Destinations has taken note of.
The site has listed down the safest destinations based on how low their rate of COVID-19 infection is, along with each country's number of hospitals, hospital beds per inhabitant, safety protocols in effect, and more.
