Have you ever dreamed of studying within the walled city of Manila? The Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) is located in the heart of the Intramuros and is a member of its Consortium. Named after Lykeios, the site where Aristotle began his teachings, it was established by the late President Jose P. Laurel in 1952. Anchored by his philosophy and values, LPU was able to produce notable alumni such as Director Joel C. Lamangan, Susan Enriquez, and Czarina Mae Balba aka Dj Chacha.

Aside from its autonomous status, LPU and its campuses are both national and internationally recognized. In fact, all of LPU Manila's programs are accredited by PACUCOA and certified by Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP). 1. AB Journalism 

In case you're interested in the industry of media and news or want to build your creative writing career, you should opt for LPU's Bachelor of Arts in Journalism program. By taking this program, you will learn about the principles and techniques of reporting, writing, producing, and disseminating news in a range of formats and platforms in a democratic society. The College of Arts and Sciences that houses this program acknowledges the challenge that comes with information being accessible in the digital space. Thus, students taking this program are expected to uphold professional and ethical standards of journalism.

2. AB Legal Management

Planning to go to law school? The Bachelor of Arts in Legal Management program is one of the options that LPU offers in preparation for such a field of study. Through a combination of the "Socratic" or individual recitation method and Case Analysis Approach adopted from Harvard, student's critical thinking skills are being honed. By taking this program, you will also be equipped with knowledge in accounting, economics, business, and finance. Hence, it can also prepare you for business-related work.

3. BS Customs Administration 

If you're an aspiring customs broker, LPU's College of Business Administration (CBA) offers the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) program. By taking this program you will not only learn about custom operation, administration, and brokerage but you'll also be exposed to in-depth practical training and seminars facilitated by CBA's Philippine Society of Customs Administration (PSCAS). tags. LPU has been consistently producing Customs Broker Licensure Examination (CBLE) topnotchers. In fact, it is recognized as the Philippines' First Center of Excellence for Customs Administration by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

4. AB Foreign Service

Do you have what it takes to represent the country beyond borders? LPU's College of International Relations (CIR) offers Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Service. In taking this course, you may opt to major in Diplomacy or International Relations. To develop students' critical and creative thinking skills, topics such as International Relations, Politics, Economics, History, Culture, and Public Administration, are being discussed in this program. The CIR considers such skills imperative for students to land jobs in the public sector, International organizations, and Foreign Embassies in Manila, as well as private sector organizations.

5. BS International Tourism Management

Did the tourism sectors pique your interest? LPU's College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) offers Bachelor of Science in International Tourism Management. By taking this program, you will be provided with knowledge and skills that are essential in the field through academic, laboratory, and internship experiences. LPU is also the first university in the country with full International accreditation by the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE). The CITHM has over 100 linkages and partners both local and international. Their practicum partners include the Intramuros Administration, Alphaland Balesin, PTC Aviations, Novotel, Hilton Hotel, and Okada Manila, among others.

6. BS International Hospitality Management

Another program housed by the CITHM is the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management. If you are to take this program, you may opt to major in Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Cruise Line Operations in Culinary Arts, Cruise Line Operations in Hotel Services, and Culinary and Kitchen Operations. Depending on the specialization, you will be provided with technical knowledge necessary in the Hospitality industry and Cruise Line industry. The CHED has also recognized LPU as the Center of Excellence for Hotel and Restaurant Management.
