It’s a non-stock, non-profit, and non-sectarian university built to provide a high standard of education equal for all. The campus location is Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.

History of Jose Rizal University

The private institution was founded in 1919 by the first certified public accountant in the Philippines, Vicente Fabella. They have constantly provided high school education and bachelor’s degrees until today. However, it closed shortly when the Japanese occupied the country to protest against the colonizers who wanted to open the schools. The university re-opened in 1945 when the war ended.

Initially, the university was called Far Eastern College School of Accounts, Commerce, and Finance and was located in Quiapo, Manila. In honor of our national hero who fought for the country’s independence through his writing, the university changed to Jose Rizal College in 1922.
