Following this, in Ouran High School Host Club, Haruhi is a young girl who receives a scholarship to a very expensive and prestigious high school. Seeing that she is only a scholar, she isn't able to purchase a school uniform and so people think she is a boy. While walking around the school, she accidentally breaks a vase that is owned by the school's host club and so to pay her debt, the members, not knowing she is a girl, requires her to be a host until she pays it off. What follows is an adventure that thrusts her life upside-down and leads her to form unexpected bonds with the members of the club.
