Chocolate and Treats You Can Eat to Make Yourself Feel Better

Food makes everyyyyything better! Sometimes, when we're not in the mood, the first reason we think of is that we could be hungry. And so we think that satisfying our cravings is the way to boost our day. Well, did you know that it doesn't really go that way? Yep! When we eat, we think that we make our tummies happy by eating our favorite munchies. But after an hour (or two), we get hungry again. That's because comfort food only gives us temporary relief (and peace of mind). Here's a list of foods you can eat so you can get through the day feeling focused and contented! 

  1. Avocado

Avocados are power food that contain Lutein, Beta-carotene and Vitamin E more than any other fruit. It has a healthy amount of fat that our brain needs in order to run evenly and block anxiety. You can add some thin slices of this on sandwiches or make a shake out of it!

  1. Dark Chocolate

Studies show that chocolate really does make you feel better—dark chocolates, specifically. It can lower blood pressure and it's loaded with nutrients that can certainly affect your health in a positive way. 

  1. Chamomile Tea

This is the most used and known anti-anxiety medicine because of its calming properties. We recommend drinking this perfect cup of tea with any kinds of healthy snacks (bananas and apples!) when you're having anxiety attacks or just simply having a bad day.

  1. Apples

Apples are extremely high in antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber, not to mention Vitamin C, which can help reduce stress and anxiety.

  1. Bananas

Bananas are known for being high in potassium, which can help you de-stress and boost your mood. They're rich with Vitamin B, which helps you relieve your nervous system, and in effect, uplift your mood. 

  1. Nuts

Nuts can reduce anxiety and depression symptoms because it contains unsaturated Omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients that can prevent heart problems.

Don't get us wrong; we're not stopping you from having a good, satisfying burger or any other "comfort food." Everyone needs some of that, too! All we're saying is it's more beneficial for you if you eat a healthy meal to combat your bad day.
