If you're notorious for constantly hitting the snooze button, but want to break this bad habit, try to incorporate some of these tips into your daily morning routine. Learning to be a morning person is pretty beneficial, we promise!
- Set multiple alarms.
Prepare an alarm for fifteen minutes prior to the time you want to get out of bed, followed by another one set for your actual wake up time. The first alarm basically lets you know that it's almost time to get up. You can even check your phone at this time so you're good to go by the second alarm.
- Keep a glass of water by your bed.
After you wake up, pick up the glass on your bedside table and take a few sips of water—this is proven to help you feel more awake.
- Find something to look forward to.
We've all had those days where leaving the comfort of our beds just does not sit well with us. However, finding some sort of incentive is a great way to avoid this. Whether it's that smoothie you left yourself in the fridge last night, seeing your best friends, or simply doing your makeup, try and find something that will make you look forward for the day ahead.
- Get yourself moving!
If you have a little extra time in the morning try working out, or doing a quick fifteen minutes of yoga. This will definitely leave you feeling much more energized and ready to start your day.
- Say no to electronics.
Probably the most obvious tip, yet also the most difficult to follow. Instead of spending hours on your phone before heading to sleep, read a book. It will actually help you sleep better!
