Whether you're back to school or not, be sure to spend some more quality time with your barkada. Though the rainy season is upon us and going around the city might be a drag at times, there are places and happenings that are a must for you to check out this month.

Fancy some good eats, cool events, or fun activities? Take your pick from our suggestions!

Build your own burger at The Burger Lab

4/F Prism Plaza, Two E-Com Building, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City

For P220, you can create your own burger at this new dining spot in Pasay City. It's for one of your cheat days when you just feel like indulging in a burger that's made just the way you like it. What's more fun is they put the homemade sauces in syringes, making you feel like a total burger scientist. There are also signature burgers on offer that range from P170 to 360, plus other dishes.

Turn Japanese at Eiga Sai

Shang Cineplex, Level 6, Shangri-La Plaza, EDSA corner Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City

The annual Japanese film festival in Manila is back and will run from July 9 to 19 at the Shang Cineplex. You're in for a treat because this year's theme is "Tasteful Japan," combining cinema and food. Eleven films, five of which are about food, will be featured in the festival. Conquer the Capitol Commons Park

Capitol Commons, Meralco Ave. corner Shaw Blvd., Pasig City

Aside from the usual pigging out at Capitol Commons' dining spots and shopping at Estancia, why not have some outdoor fun at the park? On a sunny day, call up your fitness buddy and jog around the green property, plan a picnic with the girls for a more refreshing and relaxed ambiance, or spend an afternoon playing ball games and other fun activities with the entire barkada.

Get tricked by art at Art in Island

175 15th Avenue, Brgy. Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City

The largest 3D museum in Asia has been around for a few months already, but it is still gaining momentum and popularity. So if you haven't checked out this interactive art museum yet, you better do so soon. Be sure to bring socks (shoes are not allowed), your camera, some props if you like, and your best buddies. Tickets are at P400 to P500. More information can be found on facebook.com/artinisland.

Join a Terrarium Party

Paprika, RCBC Tower, BGC and The Royal Piccadilly, 2/F Petron La Vista Katipunan, Quezon City

Learn how to pot pretty terrariums at this cool green party. The workshop will teach you the correct cacti and succulent mix, how to water your terrarium, and how to repot and propagate. Get those green thumbs ready and join the workshops scheduled on July 5 and 11. Fees are at P2,000 and P2,600. Stay updated by logging on to facebook.com/WindyandNutkin.
