5 Reasons Why You Should Head to the Summer Send-off This Weekend
We headed to Makiling Park way down South in Ayala Alabang Village to check out Block Party, a summer send-off that's filled with crafts, good food, and great fun.
So what exactly happens at a Block Party, you ask? Here are just a few things you can expect if you head down today (it's open till 9pm tonight!).
There are a lot of merchants to visit from craft materials to knitted monsters to art prints and more. And if you find that you're low on cash, there's actually a mobile ATM and a way to make cashless transactions.
You'll never go hungry, we promise. Some of our fave spots that you should definitely try the Pizza Morena from Pizza Morena, Grilled Cheese from Cheezalis Street, and cold brew coffee from Boom's Cold Brew Coffee.
3 Art Appreciation
There's also an Instagram exhibit with names we're pretty sure you're familiar with. You can buy prints of your fave photos from Instagram's most-loved photographers like Kimi Juan, Jelito de Leon, and Jake Verzosa.
4 Craft Workshops
For today, you can learn how to play the ukelele, make your own home scents and mosaics, and fun prints to hang in your home. Click the link above to sign up for classes.
5 Helping a cause
A gate fee of P50 is required for you to enter, but we think it's a small amount to pay to enjoy all the fun things we've mentioned above. Plus, you get to help a cause! The proceeds of the event will go to Disksyunaryo Atbp, a group that holds free reading camps for kids and donates books to areas with no libraries.
So what are you waiting for? Head to Makiling Park inside Ayala Alabang Village. Fun starts at 11am and continues till 9pm tonight. Tell us what your favorite thing about the Block Party is by leaving a comment below or tweeting us @candymagdotcom.
