With a steady increase of themed places popping up around Manila, there's bound to be something you have yet to discover. Furthermore, since most of us are still in a high from watching Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse, we've gathered some interesting themed cafés and geek-friendly spots for you to try out. Ranging from fun board games and awesome interior, these places are going to be a fun adventure for you to hop on!

  1. The Nook Café

Located along Maginhawa Street, this café is taking social media by the storm. And why wouldn't it? The Nook Café is every Potterhead's dream come alive. It has several board games and books for you to borrow while you sip the widely-known butterbeer. They also have several trinkets and details inside that will immediately remind you of the J.K. Rowling series.

  1. House of Geek

Another board game café, this one has a range of sandwiches and pasta for you to try out while you bond with your friends in a game of World of Warcraft. They have a wide collection of games, and the chances of boredom is at its bare minimum. A plus side is that they offer occasional discounts and fun activities on special geek celebrations. Who can resist a Darth Vader Waffle to kick off May Fourth?

  1. Headquarters

Despite being a recent addition to the multitude of board game cafés around Manila, this place is quite promising. The walls are adorned with superhero paintings, and the ambience will surely lift up your spirits and encourage you to play some games with your friends. They have a wide range of drinks for you to choose with your barkada and a growing collection of games. Make sure to keep your eyes trained on this budget-friendly café.

  1. Movie Stars Café

Don’t miss the chance to see some of your favorite characters come alive! This restaurant boasts of employees dressed up in movie characters and even features live performances every once in a while. You can take pictures with them and they’ll definitely be staying in character all throughout. You’ll be thoroughly entertained while you have your meal, which has a wide range of international items.

  1. Chemistea

How much cuter can this café get? Regardless whether or not you were a fan of Chemistry back in high school, you’ll find yourself feeling amused and interested with the theme of this place. They also do have some card games and board games for you to play with your friends, but the most noticeable feature of this café is that they serve their milk teas in beakers and flasks. Cute!
