Christmas is fast approaching and what better way to anticipate your Christmas party with friends than playing Secret Santa? But Secret Santa can get repetitive, so we found some interesting ideas to spice up this gift giving game.
- Guess the Gift
This is done in the gift exchange where people buy random gifts and wrap it in a way that others can't guess what gift it is. When it's time for the swap, the person who brought the gift will give hints and let the others guess what the gift inside is. The one who guessed it right gets the gift!
- Conspiracy Santa
If you're the type of person who's bad at giving gifts, Conspiracy Santa answers all your problems! Just like the usual Secret Santa where you draw a person's name, the twist goes that the whole group actually works together to "conspire" what the best gift to give a person from the group. It works in a way that in a group, they leave out one person at a time to discuss what gift to give that person, and the person who draws the giftee's name will buy it. (via pcmag.com)
- December Dice Game
This is a game of luck. The game starts the everyone goes in a circle with their gifts to give, then one person rolls the dice and follow the instructions given here. Everyone will take turns rolling the dice and after everyone has rolled, they get to keep the gifts they have. (via playpartyplan.com)
- Yankee Swap
A Yankee Swap—or White Elephant—is when everyone is required to bring a gift worth the decided amount to put in a pile with everyone else's presents. Everyone gets to draw a number and the first person gets to pick a gift from the pile and open it to show all the participants. For the person who picked the next number, they get to decide to pick another gift from the pile and either unwrap it or swap it with the first unwrapped gift. The game ends when everyone gets their turn and they keep their gifts.(via yankeeswap.com)
