Meet 14-year-old Kai Zachary Sotto, UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball Rookie of the Year. He plays for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets and with a height of 6'11"—unusual for a Filipino his age—he caught everyone's attention. He's been making waves inside the court and even on social media, when his photos and videos circulated online.
But his height isn't all there is to him because he's really good at what he does, too! Kai, aside from being named Rookie of the Year, is also one of the 26 cagers who'll be playing at the NBTC All-Star Game at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Exciting times are surely coming for this young athlete because he's training under Blue Eaglets coach and former PBA player Danny Ildefonso. And he's embraced learning with open arms, too, despite all the praises he's been getting. (via Spin.ph)
"Gusto ko pa mag-improve lalo para mas lalo pang makatulong sa team," he said. "Lahat. Kailangan ko lahat (ma-improve)."
Aww, we can't wait to see more of you, Kai, and we're definitely rooting for you!
