In movies and TV shows, we are often led to the belief that our lives will take a happier turn once we find love and fall in love. But IRL, it's actually the opposite!
According to Paulette Kouffman Sherman, life coach, psychologist, and author of Dating from the Inside Out, the key to finding love that will stand the test of time is finding the life you love. She wrote that in reality, "it's best to already have a life you love and then start figuring out who'll complement it. It's attractive to have wonderful things to offer." (via MyDomaine.com)
She also explained that once you find love, the life you love shouldn't stop all of a sudden! Two of the best ways to keep your relationship alive, according to relationship expert, therapist, and professor Terri Orbuch, PhD, is to still have your Me Time and to continue being who you are as a person.
Basically, having a happy life will push love towards your direction. As we've all discussed before, being your own person—having your own hobbies and passions—is very important so you can find your sense of purpose, with or without a relationship. *winks*
