We here at Candy believe that we should all respect each other, whatever someone's gender or background is. So it saddens us that some girls believe that being hit or hurt by a guy is okay, a sign of love even. Case in point, 18-year-old Romina Garcia who recently appeared on Dr. Phil's show because of her viral video saying that when your boyfriend hits you, you should stay with him because he loves you.

By the reactions the ladies in the room and Dr. Phil himself, you can already tell that her views are extremely flawed and that she needs help. It is instinct, girls. You are not supposed to hurt anybody—emotionally or physically—under any circumstance. Not only does it cause physical injuries, but also trauma that can last a lifetime and affect the other person (and his/her choices in life) infinitely.

By the end of the show, Dr. Phil's wife and women's rights advocate Robin McGraw shared the warning signs and red flags that indicates you're in an abusive relationship.

Hurting anyone is just unacceptable, we've established that a long time ago. Even these young kids know it.

If you want to know more about gender equality or are in need of help because you're in an abusive relationship, you can visit the Philippine Commission on Women's website or call them at (02) 735-4767.
