I've liked this guy for the longest time—he's my first love. However, my family and friends don't approve of him. They think he's only out to break my heart. There's another guy—a good friend of mine—who cares for me and treats me well. He even told me he loves me! My family and friends really approve of this guy (and I think I'm also starting to like him), but I still have feelings for my first love. Who should I choose?—Dyan, 16
I would prefer to follow what me heart feels rather than what my family and friends say. It's your personal decision that counts. Your happiness does not depend on other people's opnions, and you should stay true to your feelings. Decision-making is a responsibility. Sometimes, you make mistakes, and you encounter failure and frustration, but these are part fo the learning process. If you think your first love is right you, then go for it, and let your heart speak for itself. Fight for you love, Dyan. Take that risk, give it your best shot, and hope everything turns out well. —Tatsi Jamnaque, guitarist
