Thank you for your message. I understand that you're really into this guy and you would like to know if he feels the same way. I remember I was so into this girl. She was my seatmate at 9th grade. We would help each other in seatworks, share notes, and I would offer to carry her books for her on our way to the lockers. I would text her after school and we'd help each other with homework. We just really formed a cool friendship, but I found my self really liking her. I would text her some quotes I found encouraging or just plain sweet things. So one day, I confessed to her how I really feel. She was taken aback because she really just saw me as a friend. I was devastated. But at least I knew right away, and was able to recover. In your case, it's hard to tell if he's really into you. Perhaps he can be the shy type and maybe that's why he's holding back.
Cute replies can sometimes be mistaken as a sign of adoration. Maybe he's just a genuinely nice guy.
My advice? Just take things slow. Enjoy each other's company and conversations. Maybe he's not ready. Maybe your feelings will change. Talking to each other consistently will definitely help you guys get to know to each other and have a beautiful friendship out of it. If waiting is not your game, at the end of the day, you can always ask him how he feels about all this.
