Ghosting (verb). When a person who initially expressed interest in you suddenly vanishes in thin air with no warning. This is done in the hopes that the ghostee will just "get the hint" and leave the ghoster alone, instead of telling the ghostee that he is no longer interested.
It has happened to all of us before. Just when you thought that everything is going according to plan, the guy of your dreams pulls off a Houdini out of nowhere. If you are part of the ghostees club (hey, it's nothing to be ashamed of!), we just want to assure you that it wasn't your fault that he fell off the face of the earth.
- "Not cool!"
It's okay to call a foul when a guy ghosts on you because you were obviously blindsided by his mysterious disappearance. However, don't waste your precious time forcing an explanation out of him because ghosters are notorious for not giving any.
- "WHY?"
Did he find someone else? Did he get back with his ex? Did you say something wrong? Maybe he's just not interested anymore. But, why?! You're now left with a plethora of questions that will forever be left unanswered.
- "You've done me a very huge favor."
Leaving you hanging says a lot about him. If he genuinely cared for you, he wouldn't leave you the way he did. So try to look at it this way: his ghosting= him saving you from the major heartbreak he can cause you in the future.
- "If you didn't want to hang anymore, you could have at least have had the courage to let me know rather than leave me hanging."
*PSA TO ALL THE GHOSTERS OUT THERE* You can tell us straight up if you're not into us; we are strong women, we can take it.Â
- "Thank you for making me feel the way you made me feel even if you can't afford to stay."
Well, it was fun while it lasted. Even though our story ended in a sour note; I will always remember our best days.
- "I'm still waiting for you."
It's might be possible that you haven't moved on yet from that short-lived romance and you're still waiting for him to hit you up again. Don't feel bad if that is the case! Sooner or later you'll realize that he's not worth your time. You will get your old life back, we promise you.
- "I wish I never met you."
This may seem harsh at first but come to think of it; you really were having the time of your life before he came and left you in ruins.
- *nothing*
This is the probably the best way to deal with his ghosting. Stop waiting for him to come back and haunt you because you deserve way better! Don't you ever give him the satisfaction of seeing you crumble.
Don't fret if you have just been a victim of ghosting. Remember that it says nothing about you and your worthiness of love. You can do better than someone who is not even brave enough to tell you about why they don't think you should see each other anymore. You will find him.
