Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Most people you know is probably busy preparing for surprises, dinners, and gifts for their loved ones. It's so easy to get lost in the excitement of this occasion, but remember that anything too much isn't so nice. Whether you're single or coupled up, here's a reminder for you to not go so crazy this V-Day and risk turning yourself in a V-Day Godzilla who wants to have every single thing perfect on this special day.

  1. Stop expecting too much.

Don't always expect for something grand from your guy or even your friends. Sure, this is a special occasion and you should somehow put an effort to celebrating it with your loved ones. However, remember that it doesn't always have to be a lot. The gesture could be something simple like a card, a single rose, or a letter with a heartfelt message.

  2. Don't go spending so much.

Jennifer Lopez couldn't have said it any better, "Love don't cost a thing." Your effort to spend time with your loved one is more important than how expensive or cheap your time with each other is. Sometimes, holding a movie marathon inside your house means so much more than receiving a bouquet of roses and a stuffed toy.

  3. Remember what Valentine's Day is actually all about.

Above all, go back to the basic. Remember what Valentine's Day is supposed to be about. It should be about celebrating love in all its forms, sizes, shapes, and colors. You don't have to go the extra mile on this day alone, but even on normal days, too. Celebrate it whichever way you want to and plan to, just as long as you spend it with the people who really matter. Have a happy V-Day, Candy Girls, and may you have an entire year full of love.
