Most girls probably feel shy around guys. You spend hours and hours planning what to say, preparing what you should wear, and just praying to the heavens that your nerves would calm down, so you can think straight and act properly around them. But somehow your feelings always get in the way and you end up feeling awkward the whole time. But here's something that we're sure will be able to help you, Candy Girls. We've rounded up some of the most common things you tell yourselves when you're about to get guy-socialized and the things you should tell yourself so you can calm down and stop beating yourself up.

The problem: "I wouldn't know what to say."
The solution: Here's the thing: Guys don't know what to say around girls, too. There are a hundred topics out there that you can talk about, believe us. If you're scared that you're still going to get all tongue-tied around these dudes, review this small talk cheat sheet we've written for you. Remember that it's all about balance. You're not the only person who should do the talking. Allow him to open up to you, too.

The problem: "I might be too loud or too boring for them."
The solution: Think awesome thoughts, girl! You are amazing, so keep that in mind. Just be yourself and act the way you do when you're around your best friends. If you act uptight and shy around these guys or a guy, that will make them feel uncomfortable too or send them signals that you're not really liking your time with them. Let loose a little and enjoy the moment.

The problem: "What if he doesn't like talking to me?"
The solution: How will you know if you don't even try? Just remember that conversations should involve two persons. Don't just do the talking. If he asks you a question, give him an answer that he can work on and think about. Ask him about himself, too, so you'd know what he likes and what makes him happy. Work yourself from his answers, and you'll surely find yourself in a great conversation in no time.

The problem: "Maybe they'll think I look funny."
The solution: Just be comfortable. Be comfortable in what you're wearing and how you look. When you're too conscious about everything, it tends to show in the way you act. So keep calm and focus on the conversation, instead of how you look in your #OOTD. Believe us, guys don't notice the things you usually obsess about.

The problem: "I'm still too shy to deal with dudes."
The solution: Still feeling shy and awkward and uncomfortable after reading everything above? Invite your friends to accompany you instead. It is usually easier to feel at ease and strike a conversation when you're in a group. You can observe how your friends deal with these guys and you can practice a little bit, too.

Tell us how your time with a guy went and if you have more tips on how to deal with guys, share them with us! Let us know in the comments or tweet us @candymagdotcom. We always love hearing from you. :)
