While things likeĀ poor internet connection andĀ lack of resources are a collective struggle for college students currently taking classes online, there are certainĀ problemsĀ that are very specific toĀ a college course. For fashion design students like Alyssa Tongson, one of the biggest hurdles of being in quarantine is the lack of access to fabrics and other materials they need for fashion design classes.
Alyssa, a student at De La Salle - College of St. Benilde, had to learn to be more resourceful to get by. She once made a piece out of old bedsheets because she didn't have enough fabric at home and she couldn't really just head out to purchase them because of quarantine restrictions.Ā While in quarantine, sheĀ alsoĀ decided toĀ share her experience as a fashion student on herĀ YouTube channel.Ā
We had a chat with Alyssa where she shared more about her experience as a fashion design major adjusting to remote learning.
