While we continue to face the COVID-19 threat in the country, on-ground classes are still unlikely to happen, leaving universities to resort to online means of providing education to their students.

In an effort to aid the operations of online academic activities, the University of Sto. Tomas partnered with PLDT/Smart Communications to launch the Connectivity Assistance Program, which will provide Smart Bro pocket Wi-Fi units to UST students who are officially enrolled during the second term of Academic Year 2019-2020. The pocket Wi-Fi comes with 8GB of free data for students to use for school-related activities.

Aside from students, faculty members in need of such resources to conduct their classes online will also benefit from the program.

Currently, 2,000 students have signed up for the program, while 500 units of pocket Wi-Fi have already been delivered via various courier services in various areas within Metro Manila, Cainta, and Bulacan.
