The employment landscape has considerably shifted since the COVID-19 pandemic started. Some industries had to shut down temporarily, but other fields have also opened up new career opportunities.

In 2020, companies and firms have been hiring for certain jobs more than others. In case you're curious about what kind of jobs are currently available in the market, looking at fields that get the most hires can be a start.

According to LinkedIn data, the top trending jobs with the most hires on their site from July to September 2020 include the following: Financial Advisor, Customer Service Representative, Software Engineer, Graphic Designer, Teacher, Social Media Manager, Project Manager, Accountant, Recruiter, and Account Manager

Additionally, the skills that are considered most important for these jobs across industries include JavaScript, web development, project management, financial reporting, Adobe Illustrator, PHP, sales management, social media marketing, and recruiting, among many others.

Locally, the companies that had a considerable number of hires are Prudential, Shopee, Concentrix, Accenture, AXA, Sun Life, Globe Telecom, and Citi. Based on the data, a few of the industries actively hiring include (but are not limited to) finance, customer service, IT, education, and marketing. JobStreet also released their own list of industries actively hiring despite the pandemic.

If you're a fresh grad looking for your first job, entry-level jobs and fresh graduate positions are one of the most in-demand in the new normal. And if you have the right set of skills for a certain position, it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot and send over your resume.
