Of all the things Mara Karmela could have seen on her way home, she was lucky enough to witness a random act of kindness: a foreigner buying a young boy who's a sampaguita vendor a new pair of Nike shoes worth P6,000.
She also heard him ask the cashier where the nearest clothing store was.
"In exchange for the shoes, the kid gave him all the sampaguita he was selling. (Naiyak po ako ng slight.) The foreigner said, 'why don't you wear the shoes already,' to which the kid replied: "Hindi po pwede. Baka kunin ng mga bata,"Â Mara shared in her Facebook post.
The two headed to the department store to buy some clothes and the rest of the people around them were left in awe.
It's during moments like these that make us think how big of an impact we can have on other people's lives if we want to. Faith in humanity restored, indeed!Â
