This Is Why You Shouldn't Take Peace Sign or Bunny Ears Photos

Uh-oh! Bad news for people who ~casually~ flash a peace sign or bunny ears as a kawaii pose while taking photos or selfies (read: all of us)! Doing such poses can actually put you at risk for identity theft. (via japantimes.co.jp)
"Just by casually making a peace sign in front of a camera, fingerprints can become widely available," Isao Echizen, a researcher for Japan's national Institute of Informatics (NII), shared with Sankei Shimbun newspaper. What's more, your fingerprints can be read even from a photo taken from nine feet away.
So if your fingers are in focus and if you take the photo with strong lighting or using high-quality devices, you're making it easy for someone not only to copy your identity, but also access phones and computers that have fingerprint security features.
