This Girl With Down Syndrome Just Graduated From College

She didn't let her intellectual disability stop her from getting a degree!

Today in proof that you can do anything if you set your mind to it: Brina Kei Maxino's story of triumph.

Brina has Down Syndrome. Ever since she was young, she's been limited by her sickness. She was nine days old when a doctor said she could die early because her case was really bad. She was 10 years old when she was told she couldn't finish grade school because of her serious intellectual disability. But Brina proved everyone wrong when she not only surpassed grade school, but became the class valedictorian of her (regular) high school graduation.

At 20, she graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts Major in History degree and reaped awards and certifications along the way! Woot!

"This is because I worked hard, and many people believed in me and helped me achieve my dreams," she said in her Facebook post. She also called for support for fellow Persons With Disabilities saying, "Please continue to believe in us and please help us. We also deserve the chance to live the best lives that we could."

She ended her post with an inspiring message to her fellow PWDs saying, "To my fellow PWDs, we can do it!" Aww, Brina! We salute you for being an inspiration to many of us! Keep it up.
