Many have resorted to online barter while in quarantine, especially parents and teachers who are doing what they can for students trying to cope in the new normal. Case in point, Edelyn Nicol, a secondary school teacher from Pacita Complex National High School in San Pedro Laguna bartered her old projector in exchange for some school supplies that she used to print learning modules for her students.

She started with tracing papers for the kids in her neighborhood, then she also started to barter face shields that she was supposed to sell, in exchange for snacks instead. With that, Edelyn was able to distribute learning booklets that she printed for her students with some pencils and crayons that she bought online. Included in the package were snacks that she got from bartering.
