Huge gatherings like proms may not be possible yet in 2021, but there's no reason to hold back from reminiscing about the good times. Picking your prom dress is one essential part of the big event. High school prom is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so you'll want your 'fit to be as memorable as it can be (even if dressing up at home is the most we can do now).

For this Grade 10 student's prom back in 2020, her prom dress was not only memorable, but also very meaningful: Her grandmother made her prom dress entirely by hand, on the morning of her prom! Arianne Marie Contreras wore a golden silk slip dress to her prom and the fabric used for her dress only cost P120, while her grandmother's effort in meticulously crafting the dress was priceless.

According to Arriane, the inspo behind her prom dress was that Jacquemus dress Gigi Hadid wore when she walked for the designer's New York Fashion Week show (Side note: Gigi was already pregnant with her child when she wore wore that dress down the runway!).

The thing is, her grandmother has not only made one dress, but two. Arriane shares that, the day before her prom night, her mamay also made a different gold dress from the same fabric. Here's how it looks:

"I didn't want to invest on expensive gowns that look pretty common, I feel like I could make a customized one that is more practical and has a sentimental value. That's when my lola insisted to help. I thought it was sweet to wear mamay couture for a once in a lifetime event," she shares with Candy.
