People often disregard a person by his or her place on the size chart. If you identify past a size 8, there's something wrong with you, and you need to change before it "ruins your life." Your family puts you under a crazy dieting scheme that involves no rice, no fast food, no sweets, and everything else they can think of that seems to be ruining the view of your pretty, little face.

Which brings you to the belief that, no matter what you do, your weight will always stop people from appreciating your true self. No matter how high your grades are, how kind your heart is, and how forgiving you are to those who have hurt you, the label "fat" will always precede it.

It brings you to the point of weakness when you kneel before the shameful standards society has etched into your mind. You start engaging in a healthier lifestyle, although not enjoying it. You force yourself to create new habits and live a life you never thought you'd find yourself caught in.

However, when you realize that nothing is working, you entangle yourself in a web of toxic means that no longer benefit your health. You start eating less, sleeping less, running on an empty stomach, relying on biscuits and fitness drinks because you desperately want to show people that you are not fat, that if you lost a little weight, they'd see the real beauty inside of you. Yes, you may be bigger than how people your age are supposed to be. The scale sinks as you step on it, teetering quickly to the right but it doesn't mean that you are no longer precious.

Weight is used to determine a person's state of health. It helps us figure out what jean size suits us best, how we react to different temperatures, and the value of gravity that keeps us on the ground. It does not, in any way, ruin your quality as a person. Weight does not and should not, in any way, ruin your quality as a person.

Your passion, kindness, strength, and determination define you as a person.  The way you give love, share blessings, and throw happiness around like it doesn't cost a thing—these are what make you who you are.

So, do not listen to the noise that taints your self-esteem based on your physical appearance. Do not kneel before people who define you by something anatomical. Instead, continue leaving a trail of light and positivity. Show the world that there is nothing wrong with being fat, that body types are not adjectives, that people are so much more than stigmatized labels.
