On Monday, San Pablo City mayor Loreto S. Amante turned over 103 brand new ASUS Tuf Gaming laptops to the Schools Division Office of San Pablo, Laguna.
In an interview with Candy over Messenger, city government department head Paul Michael Cuadra said that the initiative was mayor Amante's response to DepEd’s request to help the teachers during the pandemic.
“Si mayor Amben Amante ay tumugon sa panawagan ng DepEd na tulungan sila para maipag-patuloy ang pagtuturo ng mga guro sa pamamagitan ng distance learning sa panahon ng pandemya.”
He also said that the ASUS laptops will be given to San Pablo City teachers, supervisors, and DepEd personnel. It might be a gaming laptop, but as per Cuadra, they just followed the required laptop specifications for teachers and students given by the DepEd which are 1.6 GHz base speed with turbo speed, 8 GB RAM memory, 13-inch screen size, 512 GB HDD SATA with speakers, camera, wireless and Bluetooth connectivity, and keyboard.
On their Facebook post, it says that the recipients are the “80 Learning Resource Coordinators of elementary and secondary school, plus 23 Division Personnel,” and it's a part of the “LGU’s support to Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan.”
