Riverdale's Betty Cooper and Cheryl Blossom Share Their Advice for Teens With Social Anxiety
Lili Reinhart and Madelaine Petsch went live a few hours ago via Riverdale's Facebook page. And as in every FB live sesh, their viewers asked them Qs, which they gladly answered.
One follower asked them what their advice is for teens who have social anxiety, and both Lili and Madelaine admitted that they have it. Below are five pieces of the advice they gave.
- Find an outlet.
Lili: "It's hard. You have to find an outlet that works for you. For me for example, it's writing. And I like to drive and go to the beach and talk to my mom. I call my mom when I feel anxiety."
Madelaine: "I read books."
- Stick with someone who understands you.
Madelaine: "I have social anxiety as well, as you know, that's why we get along so well..."
Lili: "That's why we lived together while filming in Vancouver, because we didn't want to have to move to a new country by ourselves."
- Don't do something just because everybody's doing it.
Lili: "Don't make anyone feel like you have to go out of your comfort zone, for the sake of..."
Madelaine: "For the sake of doing it. FOMO is such a huge thing for kids and it's so important to try not to."
- Listen to yourself.
Lili: "Do it at your own pace. I still don't like to go out and go to parties."
Madelaine: "I don't like going to clubs unless I'm dragged by somebody and I'm still miserable there. So it's just normal. Don't judge yourself, I guess."
- Be kind to yourself.
Lili: "Don't be hard on yourself."
