After surviving the deadly coronavirus, Aileen De Guzman Remo, an OFW from the United Arab Emirates shares what her body is experiencing after battling COVID-19.

Aileen was diagnosed with COVID-19 on June 11, 2020, and was later on diagnosed with pneumonia. She initially got a fever and lost her sense of taste, smell before experiencing difficulty breathing.

Although she’s now back home and has tested negative for the virus, it's clear her healing journey is just beginning. In an interview, she says she's still noticing changes in her body.

“Until now actually may tail pa ‘yung COVID-19 na parang nararamdaman ko sa katawan ko.

According to Aileen, she continuously experiences things like involuntary movement, as well as some difficulty breathing and hearing people. She even added that she sometimes feels like she floats like an astronaut when she walks.

She also has trouble sleeping and admits the experience had taken a toll on her mental health. “It’s my first time to experience anxiety and depression,” she added.
