Pasig Scholars With Latin Honors Get Cash Incentives Worth as Much as P30K
The local government of Pasig has been transparent about the various initiatives they have put in place for education. For instance, the city's local government unit has decided to allot P.13 billion for gadgets to be distributed to public school students and teachers in light of the "new normal" of learning.
They have also provided centers where parents and faculty members can get modules printed in case they have no means to access these learning materials online.
In another effort to support the city's fresh graduates who have displayed academic excellence, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced that scholars of the local city government who graduated with Latin Honors will receive cash incentives. Those who graduated summa cum laude get P30,000, those who graduated magna cum laude get P25,000, and those who graduated cum laude get P20,000.
"We also reminded them that as the city and its taxpayers have helped them get through school, they should also find ways to give back to the city... whether through their time, volunteer work, or even helping other students when they become financially capable," the mayor added in a tweet.
As of September 30, there are already 11 graduates who have received the incentives. If you qualify for the cash incentives, you may send over your requirement to the local government's Scholarship Office. These cash incentives will hopefully be of help to the fresh grads who are trying to enter the workforce, especially now that we're in the middle of a pandemic.
