More and more students are engaging in entrepreneurship as early as their undergraduate years. While many have put in the work to launch their own brands despite majoring in a non-business college degree, being equipped with the industry know-how is a huge help in getting ahead.
For students who want to advance their knowledge on entrepreneurship and learn from business-savvy experts, National University of Singapore (NUS) has a summer program dedicated to helping students become well-equipped with the necessary insights on business and entrepreneurship.
The oldest educational institution in Singapore, NUS aims to bridge eager-to-learn students with esteemed faculty members and industry experts through their two-week Summer Programme in Entrepreneurship. Expected learning outcomes include: understanding fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship, learning about the diverse startup ecosystems of Singapore and Southeast Asia, and acquiring skills in coming up with a good startup pitch.
While the program isn't free (it costs SGD 4,650 or roughly PHP 169,595), students of University of the Philippines have the chance to snag a scholarship for it, through The UP Office of International Linkages and UPSCALE Innovation Hub.
Who can apply?
Students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and are proficient in English can apply for the program. While priority will be given to students "with a basic interest in entrepreneurship," the program is open to undergraduate students majoring in any degree.
For the UP scholarship, UP students currently enrolled in any campus, college, or department may apply to be considered for the grant.
