In college, your course doesn't necessarily indicate the industry you'll find yourself in after graduation. While our majors may influence the career path we hope to take in the future, they also don't limit us when it comes to choosing prospective jobs, even if they're a bit outside of our comfort zone.

If you have a career path in mind but are still unsure or undecided (or if you just want to keep choices varied), taking a college course that's versatile enough to land you a job in various industries might be an option.

  • Marketing
  • Psychology
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Political Science and Government
  • Communication
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Sociology

Still, choosing your college course shouldn't solely be based on which ones can easily land you a job. It's important to really assess the long-term effects of sticking to a certain major. While you have the option to shift, there are still cases of people feeling like they took the wrong course in college, which can negatively impact their overall college experience. Are you in it for practicality or for your passion? It's a question only you can answer depending on your situation, but know that there is no right or wrong option.
